Job Details: Assistant/Associate Professor

The Division of Occupational Therapy at Western New England University announces an exciting opportunity to participate in the second faculty hiring cycle for the newly developed Entry-Level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Program. The second cohort of 33 students representing 16 states was admitted in August 2018.  The OTD Program invites applications for two academic faculty appointments (tenure track).  These are 12-month positions that are available as of January 2019, although start date is negotiable.

The ideal candidate for the Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure track) appointments will have a vision for health care education that is grounded in population health and interprofessional education perspectives, and transformative knowledge that fosters change. Interested applicants with academic experience that includes course development and teaching, a track-record or demonstrated interest in research, and a professional development plan for the future that includes research or scholarly activities and the dissemination of findings to advance knowledge are preferred. 

Applicants seeking to join our current faculty team should hold an earned doctoral degree (e.g. Ph.D, Ed.D., OTD, Sc.D.) from a regionally accredited institution or have demonstrated significant progress towards earning a doctoral degree. Applicants must possess a minimum of 3 years of documented clinical expertise as an occupational therapist with a strong clinical background in one of the following areas of practice: adult & aging acute and chronic physical disabilities; adult & aging mental health; infants, children & youth medical and chronic disabilities; infants, children & youth mental health and learning/developmental disabilities; or population/community health, wellness and prevention. 

Applicants must be initially certified by NBCOT, hold current AOTA Membership, and be licensed or licensure eligible in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Job Details:Clinical Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy

The Division of Occupational Therapy at Western New England University announces an exciting opportunity to participate in the second faculty hiring cycle for the newly developed Entry-Level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Program. The second cohort of 33 students representing 16 states was admitted in August 2018.  The OTD Program invites applications for a clinical faculty appointment (non-tenure track).  This is a 12-month position that is available as of January 2019, although start date is negotiable.

Individuals seeking the Clinical Assistant Professor (renewable term) appointment, should be self-directed to develop collaborative relationships with local practice communities, experienced to deliver direct client care and supervise fieldwork students at on-site locations, and eager to creatively initiate interprofessional practice strategies in health care settings that serve as fieldwork sites. Academic and clinical supervisory experience with Level I or Level II fieldwork students is preferred.
